মে 7, 2020Fish meal, as an important part of animal feed, always has high market prices. In particular, fish meal products from Chile, Peru, Indonesia, and other countries have always occupied an important position in the international market. Why is fish meal price so expensive? What nutritional value does fish meal have? Fish meal machine manufacturers will answer your questions here.
The fish meal production process
- The raw materials for fishmeal selection are low-value small fish and shrimp. Discarded fish heads, tails, gills, internal organs, etc. during the processing of fish fillets and canned fish meat can also be used as raw materials for processing the fish meal. However, salted ingredients should not be used to process fishmeal.
- After removing the dirt and impurities from the raw materials, rinse them with clean water and put them into the cooking machine for cooking, which takes about 25 minutes.
- After being cooked by the fish cooking machine, it needs to be further pressed with a press. If the quantity is large, mechanical pressing can be used, and the starting pressure is lower. After squeezing out most of the water, press it until it is dry.
- Drying: Spread the dried meal bank evenly on the fish meal dryer machine to dry, and turn it frequently to dry it in time (water content below 12%) to avoid decay and deterioration.
- We can use the dryer to dry the squeezed wet fishmeal. The dried fishmeal can be further pulverized with a fish meal pulverizer. If fishmeal is stored for a long time, it should be aired regularly to prevent moisture absorption and mildew.
Analysis of the nutritional value of the fish meal
- High biological value
The protein content of the high-quality fish meal is above 60%, and some are as high as 70%; The various amino acids in fishmeal are high and balanced, so their biological value is also high, which is a good animal feed for balancing poultry diets.
- Higher energy content
Fish meal contains high fat, and imported fish powder contains about 10% fat; domestic fish meal standards are 10% -14%, but some are as high as 15% -20%. However, its fat is easy to oxidize, which often causes vitamin A and vitamin E to be deficient with the oxidation of fat. At the same time, the temperature of fat oxidation rises, which is one of the causes of spontaneous combustion of fish meal.
- High calcium and phosphorus content
Fish meal contains 3.8% -7% of calcium and 2.76% -3.5% of phosphorus. The better the quality of fishmeal, the higher the phosphorus content, and the utilization rate of phosphorus is 100%. However, during storage, due to chemical decomposition, phosphorus is released and becomes elemental phosphorus. Elemental phosphorus has a low ignition point and can ignite spontaneously without an open flame. This is the second reason why fishmeal is liable to spontaneously ignite during storage.
